At Sala St Albans, we’re more than just a futsal club—we’re a community. Based in the heart of St Albans, we welcome boys and girls from school years; Reception to Y6, providing a fun, supportive environment where kids can learn and grow through the exciting sport of futsal.
We play in the fantastic facilities at St Albans Girls School, offering plenty of space for children to build their skills, stay active, and most importantly, have fun! Our club is built on a foundation of friendship and teamwork. Whether your child is completely new to futsal or has played before, they’ll find a welcoming atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to thrive.
My 8 year old son loves the friendly and welcoming Futsal sessions with Sala St Albans. The format and tempo of the Futsal sessions have really helped develop his footwork and close ball skills which has improved his game on the football pitch.

What is Futsal?
Futsal is a fast-paced, skill-focused variation of football, perfect for players looking to improve their close control and creativity. Originating from South America, the game is played on a smaller, hard court with five-a-side teams, placing an emphasis on technique and quick decision-making. Its popularity is spreading across England with local leagues, grassroots competitions, and national tournaments.
Why Futsal?
- Fast-paced and exciting: Futsal encourages quick reflexes and attacking flair, making it an intense and engaging sport.
- Skill development: The smaller pitch and heavier ball promote close ball control, perfect for refining your football skills.
- Community: From grassroots leagues to national competitions like the FA National Futsal Series, the sport is supported by a growing community of players and fans.
- Indoor fun: Unlike traditional football, futsal is played indoors, making it a year-round activity regardless of the weather.
Whether you’re looking to develop your skills or just have fun, Futsal is an excellent way to stay active and engaged.
